Having been out of work for a few months I came across the Employment Essentials on the KAE website and decided to refresh my job application skills and to help me find work. I am so thankful that I did as it was much more than I expected. The motivational aspect of it, greatly improved my confidence and wellbeing.
It was reassuring to be in a classroom with people in the same boat as it is often easy to think that you are the only one when dealing with a situation in life. You can share your fears and insecurities with one another, and share ideas, which is where Fiona's classes came in as a refreshing take on job searching. The mind-mapping, meditation practice, reframing and self-care aspects all go together with Cara's practical job searching classes - CV writing, Hidden Job Market and Interview Techniques etc, and helps you to take a more positive approach.
You will have good days and bad days, but consistency is key. I am so grateful to Fiona and Cara, and to Kent Adult Education for the opportunity and the journey it took me on. The workshops greatly improved my confidence and made me feel hopeful about all the opportunities available to me and as a result, I got a job with the organisation I wanted!
