Dartford Centre | Kent Adult Education

Centre information

Originally opened on 16th March 1931 as a local school for boys the building has seen many changes in patterns of education. The expected subscription from each boy in 1933 was 2 shillings per term.

The school was eventually closed in August 2000 but it has remained a true to its original purpose to provide education. The building now offers one of the most modern sites for Kent Adult Education. The renovations were specifically designed to provide a great environment for adult students; Dartford Adult Education Centre boasts a large state of the art Dance Studio, Beauty, and Complementary Therapy Suite, Art and Craft Rooms and workshop.

The classrooms are all well-equipped and welcoming there is a spacious IT room for IT, Bookkeeping and Digital Photography courses. Also there is a dedicated programme of English, maths and ESOL. The centre is about 10 mins away from the A2 with easy access from Kent and Essex.
