How will I be taught?
The session starts with a safe and effective warm up. Students will then learn moves through tutor demonstration, and practice as a group or with a partner to music. Notes are provided and the lesson will finish with a gentle cool down.
You will be asked to complete a confidential health questionnaire before the course starts.
Your tutor will advise you of your progress in each class.
What do I need to bring with me?
You will need supportive, comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement. Formal trousers, skirts or dress are not suitable for this activity. Circle skirts can be worn. A scarf to tie round your hips is advantageous but not essential. You should wear shoes with a soft sole (ballet pumps are best or dance trainers), alternatively you could dance barefoot. Sandals, boots or any footwear with a high heel are not recommended. You may be advised not to take part if you are not dressed appropriately.
Please bring water and avoid eating one and a half hours prior to exercising.
What can I do next?
Each term is slightly different, we will repeat core posture and moves, but will try new combinations and choreography so you can stay in this class for a number of years and still be learning new skills.
