This course will be held at Ashford Adult Education Centre.

Learn to play simple to intermediate songs with others in a guitar ensemble. The course is aimed at those with some experience of playing classical guitar and basic sight reading of music. You will be given parts to play that are commensurate with your level of ability.

By the end of the course you should be able to:
Play pieces of music in an ensemble at appropriate level.
Understand and apply music theory at appropriate level.
Sight read music at appropriate level.

Please note that there are no refreshments available at The Gateway on a Saturday. You may wish to take your own refreshments and a packed lunch

How will I be taught?

Students will be taught both as a group and one to one, with opportunities to perform and practice individually, in duets and as an ensemble. The tutor will give detailed instructions and demonstrations.

What do I need to bring with me?

Full size Classical Spanish Guitar. Optional items: music stand, footrest, tuner.

What can I do next?

Students can progress to longer classical guitar course. Enrol early as places cannot be guaranteed.

What do I need to join the course

You need to be able to play classical guitar and sight read at a basic level. The course is not suitable for absolute beginners.
