This is an online course delivered using Zoom, in real time with live interaction with your tutor. You will receive a one-to-one tutorial once a fortnight as it is not possible to have all students playing together (internet delay issues). The current fee reflects this change in delivery.
Learn to play simple to intermediate pieces, including a broad coverage of music theory, sight reading music and techniques for guitar. It is hoped that beginners will achieve the equivalent of Grade 1 (Trinity College of Music), with intermediate level students progressing to higher grades., , By the end of the course you should be able to:, Play technical exercises (including scales) at appropriate level., Play pieces of music (individual, duet, ensemble) at appropriate level. , Understand and apply music theory at appropriate level., Sight read music at appropriate level, To benefit fully from this course, students are advised to practise the exercises and pieces in their own time
How will I be taught?
Students will be taught one to one, with opportunities to perform and practice individually. The tutor will give detailed instructions and demonstrations.
One to one tutorial guidance, critiques, self-assessment against stated learning outcomes.
What do I need to have with me?
Full size Classical Spanish Guitar. You will be advised at the first session of suitable music books to purchase (an average cost of £6.00 per term). Optional items: music stand, footrest, tuner.
What can I do next?
Students can progress to higher grade levels if required. Enrol early as places cannot be guaranteed.
