How will I be taught?

Our creative courses are taught by qualified and experienced tutors who will use a variety of teaching methods including one to one tutorial guidance, demonstrations and group discussions. To ensure that students' learning needs are met the tutor will work with the student to complete an Individual Learning plan.

To benefit fully from this course, students are advised to practice the exercises and pieces in their own time.
Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques. You will keep a notebook and update an individual learning plan (ILP) to record goals, ideas, processes and progress. Students will need to understand the potential benefit from the programme of study, read and interpret ideas, communicate responses that are clear, logical and understandable and manage your own time.

What do I need to have with me?

Students have to cover the cost of their own materials and will require a notebook and pen. The cost will vary according to the scale of the work produced, but the tutor will advise on the approximate costs of each project. Please bring any materials and equipment you have that might be appropriate to the course.

You can access the class from your computer equipped with a camera and a microphone, from a laptop (where the camera and microphone should be built-in), a tablet or a smartphone. Before each lesson, the tutor may send you by email essential lesson information/handouts for you to consult in advance, and before the class starts, the tutor will have sent you by email an invitation to join, which will be a simple weblink to click.
