This course will be held at St Faiths Adult Education, Maidstone (next door to Maidstone Museum)
In this short Crochet course in Maidstone, you will be making a chunky basket using tape/t-shirt yarn. Part of the process of making the basket is to learn how to work a circle using double crochet, which is the basis for many projects including toys (known as Amigurumi – see our other courses).
You will also learn basic Crochet techniques including:
• How to hold your hook and yarn
• How to read a pattern and chart
• Basic crochet stitches, including chain stitch, double crochet and increase.

There will be group and individual tuition and feedback.
What do I need to bring with me?
For this course you will need to bring your own yarn and crochet hook. You will need a 7mm crochet hook and a 250g skein of t-shirt yarn (i.e. Hoooked Ribbon XL or yarn with an equivalent tension – available from online retailers). The Tutor will also bring materials as a backup, at a cost of £10.
