Digital Photography - Improvers

Day of week:
Canterbury Adult Education Centre, Canterbury
Mixed Level
19:00 - 21:00
12 weeks

This course is currently full and online booking is not possible. Please call 03000 41 22 22* to register your interest. We will contact you directly if we can accommodate you.

The Improvers course is aimed at those who have already completed the Beginners course in Digital Photography but is also open to those who have some (though not necessarily extensive) experience with their cameras or photography. The course picks up on the fundamentals of technical photography, specifically focussing on Metering Techniques, Composition, Semiology and Meaning. It also provides an introduction to project work and will give you the opportunity to work on two short projects.
You will also be looking at digital photography editing software (photoshop elements) and will be converting RAW files, making basic edits and creating digital mounts and frames in preparation for printing and display.
You will be introduced to three key areas of photography: Style, Subject and Meaning. These three areas encompass much of what we do in photography and you will be encouraged to engage with them in meaningful ways. Parts of this course are self-directed and so there is freedom to make the kind of work that you would like to produce.
