This course is designed specifically for UASC learners. It is a combination of English, maths and IT skills needed for everyday life in Britain. It runs over 2 days - Monday and Friday for 10 weeks with the objective of preparing learners to be college/work ready. There is a possibility of a bursary and travel/lunch reimbursement.
Who is the tutor?
About the Tutor: Bridget Stiffell
Bridget is a qualified ESOL tutor who specialises in teaching adults. Bridget delivers enriching, practical and stimulating ESOL courses to groups of students of different nationalities, She provides in-depth learning opportunities and self-study for all learners, providing information and guidance on a wide range of topics and supporting with initial assessment, examinations and providing extra support.
How will I be taught?
You will work on a variety of activities as a class and in small groups or pairs. This allows the tutor to attend to individual needs as well as to direct the learning of the group as a whole. Homework will be an essential part of the course.
An individual learning plan of work (ILP) is developed between you and the tutor. You will have tutorials with your tutor when you will be able to discuss your progress.
Additionally, your work will be regularly marked by your tutor who will give you oral/written feedback.
What do I need to bring with me?
Dictionary, ring-binder for handouts and homework, paper and pen.

What do I need to join the course
Available for UASC learners. You will need to attend an initial assessment prior to joining. This will be held on 29th February 2020
