This 3 day summer school will take you through a range of beautiful bouquets and arrangements using seasonal flowers.
Day 1 am Summer inspired handtied aqua pack bouquet with a contemporary twist on a traditional design with bold gift wrapping,
pm Summer garden arrangements with scented flowers, herbs and blown roses for a romantic feel. Students will decorate jam jars with an on trend vintage feel of lace etc
Day 2 am Summer flowers in a jug, practicing the handtied method and the grid technique. A wide variety of summer blooms and foilage will be used for a freshly picked effect
pm A flat pack eco inspired bouquet of flowers and foliage using sustainable gift wrapping designs
Day 3 am Various Boho style vase arrangements
pm A vintage tea cup arrangement .
Morning flowers can be reused for the afternoon arrangements each day to save expense
Who is the tutor?
About the Tutor: Laura Follows
Laura has had a very colourful and varied floristry career over the past 21 years; from working for the florist appointed to HRH and being privileged to make the royal families flowers, to creating celebrity flowers for Hollywood stars and designers including Louis Vuitton and meeting a few famous faces along the way! Laura has worked in some very glamorous and beautiful locations in London over the years including the Lord Mayors show, banquets for the rich and famous, prestigious London hotels and companies and even Westminster Abbey. She has covered every step of the floristry career ladder from junior to head florist and managed prestigious London based flower shops.
Teaching since 2002 Laura is qualified through City and Guilds and has a passion for flowers in her genes! She is the 4th generation of florists in the family and loves teaching people and having the privilege of passing on her knowledge and skills to others.
How will I be taught?
You and your tutor will both monitor and assess your progress throughout the course to ensure your learning needs are being met.
What do I need to bring with me?
For the course you will need to bring-
Day 1
- Floristry or strong Scissors
- Roll of clear cellophane, grey or black tissue paper, 2 metres grey or black ribbon
- Double sided sticky tape
- A small roll each of lace, string and twine
- Assorted buttons
- 4 or 5 clean jam jars
- 1 bunch mixed seasonal flowers (from supermarket is fine)
- 1 bunch Lillies
- 2 or3 bunches short stemmed Roses
- mixed foliage/herbs (approx 1 carrier bag worth)
Day 2
- 1 medium sized ceramic/china jug
- same flowers as Day 1 plus
- 1 bunch long stemmed Roses
- 1 bunch Gypsophlia (Babies breath)
- Bundle of Raffia
- Twine
- Roll of brown paper (parcel wrapping paper)
Day 3
- 5 glass vases of different sizes
- 1 block green floral oasis
- 1 teacup and saucer
- Flowers will be advised on Day 1
You will be reusing flowers where possible to make multiple arrangements throughout the course to reduce waste and costs.

What do I need to join the course
Everyone is welcome to this mixed level course, arrangements will be adapted to suit the level of experience for each learner.
Please note we are continuing to observe safety measures in the centre and request that students please maintain 2 metre distancing, wear masks when moving around the room and sanitise desks before and after use. We will provide hand sanitiser and antibacterial wipes, all rooms will be ventilated and seating distanced.
It is important to note that craft courses are practical, requiring a degree of manual dexterity. Students will need to participate fully to get the most out of the course.
