You will revise and expand previously studied grammar including present and past tenses (perfect/imperfect/pluperfect), future tense, conditional/subjunctive mood in set phrases, relative clauses and pronouns. You will also gain an insight into the culture of the country where the language is spoken.
How will I be taught?
The emphasis is on oral communication (speaking and listening) but some reading and writing will also be included. The course will be conducted in the foreign language. A variety of teaching strategies will be used. Learner participation will be through individual, pair and group work. Cassettes/CDs and videos/DVDs may be used. Initial assessment is carried out at the beginning of the course to assess individual skill level. Each student' starting point is recorded on an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and targets are set to aid development of the skill. These are revisited from time to time during the course to monitor and record progress
What do I need to have with me?
The course book will be discussed at the first session if appropriate. Students will need to bring a pen and paper and an A4 ring binder for handouts, although we advise students not to buy anything until after the first session.
