How will I be taught?
The emphasis on this course is on listening and speaking. The lesson focus on language that is required in authentic situations. To help you develop language skills the course will be conducted mainly in the foreign language. You will work through different activities individually, in pairs and in small groups, using a variety of learning methods and resources (role-play, games…). To ensure your progression, it is essential to attend on a regular basis. We also recommend that you spend 1 – 2 h each week doing private study as directed by your tutor.
With your tutor, you will monitor and record your progress on your learning plan (ILP)
What do I need to bring with me?
The course book will be discussed at the first session if appropriate. Students will need to bring a pen and paper and an A4 ring binder for handouts, although we advise students not to buy anything until after the first session.
What can I do next?
There is a short “French Beginners - Summer School” to follow-up and reinforce learning. Please enrol at least one week before the start to ensure the viability of your course. After this, the next appropriate follow-on course is a Beginners Plus course. The tutor will be able to advise or check www.kentadulteducation.co.uk.
