Planning a trip to France soon? If you are visiting France in the near future or want to grasp a little French lingo this two days French Basics course is the course for you.
This 8 hour course aims to give students enough essential travel phrases to get by on a visit or to interact with French speakers but will remain fairly basic.
By the end of the course successful students should be able to:
- give and receive basic greetings
- order and pay for food and drink in a restaurant or cafe
- ask for and use directions,
- request and understand basic travel information,
Basic French grammar will be taught and students will also gain an insight into the culture.
1 hour per day is allocated for lunch.

How will I be taught?
The focus will be on oral communication (speaking and listening) and some reading and writing will also be included. Pronunciation and French culture are an integral part of the course. The course will be conducted mainly in the foreign language. Learners will work through different activities individually, in pairs and in small groups, using a variety of learning methods and resources (role play and games etc).
Your tutor will monitor your progress throughout the day.
What do I need to bring with me?
Students will need to bring a pen and paper.

What do I need to join the course
No previous experience is required.
For anybody who has little or no previous knowledge of French and wants to prepare for a trip to France or a French speaking country in order to get by. Also for anybody who needs to interact with French speaking visitors at a basic level or who has missed the start of a longer Beginners course and wants to learn basic French.
