This course will cover the impact of the Cold War for the USA and USSR, as well as providing a European perspective. The course will consider significant events such as the ‘Space Race’, the ‘Bridge of Spies’ exchange, the ‘Bay of Pigs Episode’ and the ‘Cuban Missile Crisis’.
The course will discuss the impact on society and global relations during this time and which resulted in the demolition of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught with a variety of teaching methods, tutor discussion, peer discussion, group work. You will discuss your learning with the tutor and will be asked to record your progress on a Learning Plan.
What do I need to bring with me?
You may wish to bring a pen and paper for note taking.
