This history course will look at the role played by Russia and the Soviet Union during the 20th century, particularly with regard to the Bolshevik revolution, the peace to war period and the post-Cold War period.
The course will discuss the impact on society and global relations during this time and which moved the country from monarchy to totalitarian regime to the early stages of democracy.
N.B. The Cold War period will be briefly covered within the course, but those interested in this period are recommended to enrol on MAI/78089/H/LC 'History - The Cold War'.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught with a variety of teaching methods, tutor discussion, peer discussion, group work. You will discuss your learning with the tutor and will be asked to record your progress on a Learning Plan.
What do I need to bring with me?
You may wish to bring a pen and paper for note taking.
