This course will outline the pivotal historical moments of the Italian cinema starting from the 1910 to the more modern days.
The course is structured with different activities that will create opportunities to express opinions, compare with the cinema in other countries. Parts of the most iconic fildm will be shown and used as listening activities.
This course will enhance your language and cultural knowledge.
By the end of the course you students will be able to learn about:
- The start of the Italian cinema and the experimental years
- Cinecitta' and the fascist influence on cinema
- The new season of the cinema after the Second World War
- Italian cinema during the Seventies
- The crisis of the Eighties
- The Italian cinema today
Some homework may be given to enhance learning and contribute to the discussion in the classroom.

This course is for student who have at least an Intermediate Plus Level or have been studying the language with us for 300 hours.
