This course will have maximum 6 students who would like to study at faster pace than other beginners courses.
If you have studied other languages and would like to learn Italian at a faster pace, this is the ideal course for you.
You will practise about real life situations and different topics to give you an interactive context. A combination of grammar, vocabulary and practise of listening and speaking skills in a virtual environment which will enhance your learning.
By the end of the course successful students will be able to:
* give and receive personal information
* introduce friends and family in a bar/restaurant setting
* use numbers (prices, time)
* order and pay for food and drink in a restaurant or cafe
* make an appreciation
* express ideas and opinion
You will be given small amounts of homework each week (max 1hr) to reinforce classroom learning.
Who is the tutor?
About the Tutor: Selene Genovesi
Selene has a Bachelor Degree in Modern Languages and Literature and an MA in Literary Translation.
She has always had a great passion for all literatures and has started studying (and then teaching) languages to be able to read more books!
She is currently member of many “borderless” clubs in English and Italian, devouring classic and contemporary titles, as well as being an avid reader of Literary Criticism magazines and blogs online.
How will I be taught?
This course will be delivered online. Students will join the class from home and be able to exchange and in interact with other learners as they would in the classroom (speaking, listening, writing in the chat box). This measure is dictated by circumstances and the course will be delivered back in the classroom as soon as possible. The emphasis in this course is on speaking and listening. The lessons focus on language that is required in authentic situations. To help you develop language skills the course will be conducted mainly in the foreign language. You will work through different activities individually, in pairs and in small groups, using a variety of learning methods and resources (role-play and games etc.). To ensure your progression, it is essential to attend on a regular basis. We also recommend that you spend 1 to 2 hours each week doing private study as directed by your tutor.
With your tutor you will monitor and record your progress on your learning plan.
What do I need to have with me?
The course book will be discussed at the first session if appropriate. handouts and individual homework will be provided. Students will need to bring a pen and paper and an A4 ring binder for handouts, although we advise students not to buy anything until after the first session.
What can I do next?

What do I need to join the course
You can access the class from your computer equipped with a camera and a microphone, from a laptop (where the camera and microphone should be built-in), a tablet or a smartphone. Before each lesson, the tutor will send you by email essential lesson information/handouts for you to consult in advance, and before the class starts, the tutor will have sent you by email an invitation to join, which will be a simple weblink to click.
