Learn to make pasta like mamma used to!! The 26th of November is "officially" Pasta Making day and if you want to impress your family, friends, guests with a new skill, this is the perfect occasion.
The Christmas holiday are not far so you can batch cook, freeze your pasta and save time!
This is a very friendly course for all, some Italian will be spoken but if you do not know the language it will not prevent you to learn.
You will be making your own fresh pasta (tagliatelle, spaghetti o ravioli) and some sauces of your choice. The tutor will use a very typical Italian pasta cutter called chitarra!,
Recipes to cook your pasta will be provided.
Who is the tutor?
About the Tutor: Anna Laila Pace
Anna Laila is an experienced tutor with a passion for languages, art, fashion, food and wines.
She worked in the food and wine sector for several years where she learned much about wine appreciation as well as commercial aspects such as import and distribution.
She also worked in the fashion industry in Italy and London where she was the account manager to a well-known designer and was able to further her interest in the creative process.
She has taught French, Italian and English abroad and since moving to Tunbridge Wells has been teaching for Kent Adult Education
How will I be taught?
The tutor will use a variety of teaching methods which include visuals, descriptions and practical demo.
What do I need to have with me?
You will need:
Flour 00 (pasta flour) if you are allergic to gluten please bring your gluten free 1 kilo,
4 eggs,
Rolling pin,
Apron,
Hat or headband to keep hair in place
Trays to put the past in
If you want to make ravioli you will need a filling of your choice. The easiest is to have ricotta and spinach.
An email will be sent to the students enrolled a week before the start of the course with a reminder of the ingredients.
