Do you want to be able to use your Italian in a range of real life situations? Then this Italian Intermediate course is for you. This short Italian Intermediate course delivered online/live follows on from our Italian Intermediate courses and is for anyone who wants to develop their skills further. It is also suitable to shigher level students who would like to explore Italian arts and natural beauties. Being a short course the focus will be on practising to use the present, past and future tenses in everyday situations with topics related to Italian artistic and natural treasures in different regions.
You will benefit from being in a classroom, from exchanging face to face with a supportive tutor and others as you practise speaking and enjoy learning the language.

Successful students will be able to:
• Describe (people, places, situations, events etc) using present, past and future
• Watch and Listening video related to the course and express an opinion and ideas in taking part in discussions
• Deal with emergencies, problems and complaints

Grammar will be expanded within the topic of the lesson. You will be given small amounts of homework (1 hour max) each week to reinforce classroom learning.

How will I be taught?

The focus will be on oral communication (speaking and listening) and some reading and writing will also be included. Pronunciation and Italian culture are an integral part of the course. The course will be conducted mainly in the foreign language. Learners will work through different activities individually, in pairs and in small groups, using a variety of learning methods and resources (role-play and games etc). Homework set will provide an opportunity for self study to reinforce learning.
Initial assessment will be carried out at the beginning of the course to assess individual skill level. Each student's starting point will be recorded on an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and targets will be set. This will be revisited from time to time during the course to monitor and record progress. Tutors will mark homework and give written or verbal feedback.

What do I need to bring with me?

The course book will be discussed at the first session if appropriate. Students will need to bring a pen and paper and an A4 ring binder for handouts, although we advise students not to buy anything until after the first session.

What can I do next?

An extension of this course can be discusses with the tutor and priced according to the number of students. The appropriate follow-on course is an Intermediate Plus course. The tutor or the curriculum leader will be able to advise or check

What do I need to join the course

For those who have either completed one of our Beginners Plus courses or who have studied GCSE (D/E grades) or have studied the language for approximately 100 hours and who can express themselves and understand simple information relating to personal, work or social matters.
For anybody who has attended one of our Italian Beginners Plus courses and/or is looking to improve the practical speaking and listening skills needed to cope with a range of real life situations more complex than those at Beginners Plus level.
