Analysis of the most used phrases and how to put them in context. 4 – Latin in literature and philosophy. Discover modern literature influenced by Latin, translation of small sentences.
Who is the tutor?
About the Tutor: Selene Genovesi
Selene has a Bachelor Degree in Modern Languages and Literature and an MA in Literary Translation.
She has always had a great passion for all literatures and has started studying (and then teaching) languages to be able to read more books!
She is currently member of many “borderless” clubs in English and Italian, devouring classic and contemporary titles, as well as being an avid reader of Literary Criticism magazines and blogs online.
How will I be taught?
A variety of teaching strategies will be used. Learner participation will be through individual, pair and group work. Internet resources may be used. Initial assessment is carried out at the beginning of the course to assess individual skill level. Each student's starting point is recorded on an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and targets are set to aid development of the skill. These are revisited from time to time during the course to monitor and record progress.
What do I need to have with me?
We advise students not to purchase other books or expensive materials until after the first class unless otherwise advised. Students should bring a pen and paper and an A4 ring binder for handouts.
What can I do next?
There is no qualification but this course can provide students with the basics needed for further study or to go on to study for a qualification.
What do I need to join the course
For students who have no knowledge or very little knowledge of the Latin language. It is also beneficial for students who have studied in the past and need to refresh their knowledge.
