This Mediation Workshop is suitable for anyone who is interested in exploring a Mindful approach everyday life and to the practice of meditation.

The potential benefits of Mindfulness and Meditation will be explained. After discussing the principles of Meditation, students will be guided into some simple guided meditations.

By the end of this workshop you should be able to:
Identify ways in which meditation may be helpful for you.
Describe some key underlying principles of meditation.
Identify how to take this work forward if you want to.

To assist us in providing a safe and healthy environment for you to exercise you will be asked to complete a Confidential Health Questionnaire. If you have suffered from any of the conditions listed, please check with a medical practitioner to find out whether this course is suitable for you.
- Do you ever have chest pain?
- Have you had any operations or injuries in the last year?
- Do you often feel faint or dizzy?
- Are you on long term medication?
- Do you have high or low blood pressure?
- Do you have a bone or joint problem, such as Arthritis, Osteoporosis, back or knee problems?

How will I be taught?

You will be taught by a qualified tutor. The course will be highly experiential and you will participate in Mindful activities and Meditation practices led by the tutor in addition to recording your thoughts and feedback.

We use approaches to slow down the conscious mind this is particularly useful for people whose mind is so active they feel relaxation is impossible.

You will learn a variety of techniques to achieve the depth and duration of meditation experience you desire.

Our teaching methods include demonstration, explanation, discussion and times for question and answer sessions. You will be carefully observed to ensure that you are working safely. At the start of your course you will be asked to complete an Individual Learning Plan which includes your Initial Assessment of your own knowledge and ability evels and will be used by you and your tutor to reflect on and monitor your progress. Your tutor will also use this information to ensure that all of your personal goals are achieved and provide individual support where necessary. At the end of the course you and your tutor are asked to assess the progress you have made via End of Course Evaluations.

What do I need to have with me?

Please read the following information carefully. You may be advised not to take part if you are not dressed appropriately. You will need supportive, comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement.
