This is an online course delivered using Zoom, in real time with live interaction with your tutor and fellow students.
This 'Microsoft® Word - Improve your Productivity - Online Live' course will demonstrate the use of all the major functions of a word-processor as used at work or at home, so that you can produce professional looking documents, reports and letters more efficiently. Shortcuts, hints and tips will be shared.
By the end of the course you should be able to:
- Design documents including appropriate formatting, bulleting and numbering and symbols;
- Use functions such as finding and replacing words and adding borders and margins, inserting tables and inserting images;
- Produce documents of use to you in your home or at work;
- Explain relevant jargon in simple terms.
On successful completion of this course you will be provided with an attendance certificate.
Who is the tutor?
About the Tutor: Lynn Smith
Lynn Smith is an experienced tutor and has been teaching computing for more than 8 years. She teaches a wide range of computing courses including beginners courses and qualification courses for the workplace.
How will I be taught?
Your tutor will use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, including one to one guidance and group critiques to support you in achieving your goals. The course will be taught in a relaxed and informal atmosphere, which will try to cater for your individual needs. Your tutor will provide feedback throughout the course.
Your starting point is recorded on an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and targets are set to help you develop your skills and reach your goals.
This computing course is taught using the Windows® 10 operating system and can involve Microsoft® Office 2016 software.

What do I need to have with me?
A notepad and pen. Please bring a USB memory stick with you, if you wish to take away any of your data.

What do I need to join the course
This course is for those who have some computer literacy and who wish to learn more about Word 2016, Microsoft's® word-processing package. You should be familiar with the basics of the program.
