This is an online course delivered using Zoom, in real time with live interaction with your tutor and fellow learners.

Mindfulness is the ability to pay deliberate attention to our experience from moment to moment, to what is going on in our mind and body from day to day.

On this course in Ashford you will learn how to develop and apply these skills to your life. By the end of the course you will be able to: Prepare the body and breath for meditation; Meditate; Consider the benefits of mindfulness.

Each workshop will expand upon what was previously learnt and you will work through different topics each week.

If your course is held at Ashford Gateway in the evening, please note the following:- The main door to the building closes at 6pm Mon-Wed and 8pm on Thurs. The building can only be accessed via the side door which is situated to the left of the main entrance at the corner of the building. There is an entry system via a buzzer.

How will I be taught?

You will be guided through a posture designed to prepare the body and mind for meditation. Students will be able to meditate and enjoy their journey (you will not be asked to share this journey with your peers). Specific topics will be discussed e.g what is happiness? Your tutor will provide you with feedback and advice. You may wish to work on a personal learning diary if you wish to attend each month.

What do I need to have with me?

Loose comfortable clothing, a small bottle of water if desired.

What do I need to join the course

There are no entry requirements for this course, it is for people of all ages and abilities with an interest in meditation, either new to Mindfulness or with some past or current experience. This course may particularly appeal to those who experience stress or anxiety.
