Are you interested in psychology and want to learn more about it, especially the psychology around crime and criminal behaviour? Then this Explanations of Criminal Behaviour course in Tunbridge Wells is for you.
This is a short introduction to criminological psychology. Psychology is the study of mind and behaviour and if you are more interested in what causes the bad behaviour rather than the good, then this is the course for you.
You will gain an understanding of how psychology can be applied to criminal behaviour and how the police use psychological theory to track criminals and interview witnesses. You will look at the explanations of criminal behaviour and how these explanations can have an impact on sentencing and custodial punishments. It will also look at the difficulties in defining crime and the debate within the justice system in relation to free-will or determinism.
There is no mandatory work outside the course hours. Ideas for further reading or research can be provided by the tutor.
There is no parking on site, but there is a public car park nearby.
