A professional qualification in Reflexology that will equip students with practical skills and theoretical knowledge enabling them to become qualified reflexologists. You will be able to identify when a treatment is not appropriate as well as studying the theory of Reflexology and Health, Safety and Hygiene. The theory is made up of the following online exams “Professional Standards” and “Anatomy and Physiology”. Students will be required to complete the theory online in the comfort of their own home prior to attending the practical element at the Adult Education centre. These online courses should take approximately 5 hours to complete the Professional Standards and approximately 23 hours to complete the Anatomy and Physiology. Please note there is no RPL for this course. The course guides you through each topic, explaining it in detail. The course is accompanied by full colour images and clearly labelled diagrams which effectively demonstrate the topics discussed.
All the anatomy and physiology which you need to know to perform a reflexology treatment is included and so you do not need to hold a previous Anatomy & Physiology qualification.

How will I be taught?
The modules are completed online, in your own time. At the end of every module, there is an online assessment to complete which tests your understanding of the content. This part of the course should be completed in approximately twenty-three hours.
Students enrolling in the course will receive a copy of the Guild's full colour 366-page Reflexology text book and a technique DVD to support the online material. Students can use these to refer to throughout their learning and once they have finished the course.
The practical element of this course will take place at the Adult Education centre and you will need to complete 3 client case studies with 6 treatments each. You must expect at least four hours homework per week which will mainly comprise of practising Reflexology skills and case studies with some background reading to consolidate learning. You must attend all sessions.
Teaching methods will include demonstration, lecture input, discussion and time for question and answer sessions. Students are required to undertake a programme of case studies which involves giving treatments and writing up the results. These usually take place outside teaching hours. Progress is monitored at all stages.
What do I need to bring with me?
You will need to bring a model to work on every week, plus your notes.
Couch cover, 2 hand towels, wipes, foot cream, and black top and trousers.
Short nails are essential.

What do I need to join the course
You complete the online Anatomy and Physiology and the Professional Standards courses prior to the start of this course. You will be given the information on how to access the course content following a successful initial assessment process.
You must complete your initial assessments for this course at your local centre BEFORE you enrol.
You will also need to register with the Guild prior to starting this course which will cost £25.00.
