How will I be taught?

Craft courses provide an opportunity for students to learn and develop skills, techniques and understand how to design for a chosen craft. Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstration, instructions, one-to-one tutorial guidance, group discussions and critiques.

At the start of the course you will work with your tutor to develop an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) to set out what you want to achieve by the end of the course. You will both monitor and assess your progress throughout the course to ensure your learning needs are being met. There are no formal exams or tests to complete on this course.

What do I need to bring with me?

You will need:
-A pen, pencil and notebook
-Scissors, pins and a tape measure
-You may wish to bring your own sewing machine if you have one (Please remember to bring the leads and pedal). We have machines for other students to use.

Fabric and resources will all be supplied.

For safety only closed toes shoes should be worn.

What can I do next?

You will be able to take further courses or take on a specific project class.

What do I need to join the course

Everyone is welcome. It is important to note that craft courses are practical requiring a degree of manual dexterity and students will need to participate fully to get the most out of the course.
This would be suitable for beginners and those who would like to improve their skills
