This is a short course for the budding scientists out there or for those who just love to play with fabrics and yarn. We will be learning about fibre identification using burn and wet tests to help you determine the fibre make up of any mystery textile or yarn. These skills are especially useful if you are a charity shop yarn scavenger like me and have acquired many unlabelled cones of yarn for textile projects. Understanding your Clothes on the 2nd September is a good precursor to this course.
How will I be taught?
There will be demonstrations from the tutor that you can take part in at home.
What do I need to have with me?
A notebook and pen will be useful plus any fabrics and yarn you have you would like to identify safely.
What can I do next?
Your tutor will be able to advise, or please visit our website at www.kentadulteducation.co.uk for details of our Textiles courses.
