How will I be taught?
Each week there will be a practical session to produce a pre-stated style of flower arrangement during which assistance will be provided by the tutor on a 1:1 basis as required. The tutor will demonstrate the practical session in advance. Other aspects relating to the subject will also be covered.
After the practical work is completed there will be feedback by group discussion
What do I need to bring with me?
Students will need to provide their own plant material i.e. flowers and foliage, containers, mechanics, floral foam and accessories that are sometimes needed for the design each week. Good scissors and secateurs, a notebook and pen and a table covering are required together with a camera for recording work each week Some of these will be available to buy from the tutor, by prior arrangement. Your tutor can provide foam, tape, wires, containers and floristry tools at reasonable cost or you can provide your own. She will let you know what to bring to the first session about a week before the course starts.
Buying flowers from the supermarket and supplementing these with foliage from your garden is a cost effective way of providing the necessary course materials.
