How will I be taught?
Your tutor will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques. You will look at the work of contemporary and historical craftspeople and you will keep a sketchbook and anindividual learning plan to record your goals, ideas, and processes. You will undertake critical evaluation and be motivated to develop creative skills and enhance/develop personal skills. The tutor will provide feedback on your work through one to one guidance and group critiques. You will be able to self-assess against your individualised learning outcomes stated on the ILP.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please wear old clothes and shoes that protect your feet (no sandals). You will need to have made pots to fire earlier, avoiding fragile bodies or construction methods. All pots are paid for by fired weight at a reasonable rate. Health and safety issues are highly important on this type of course and you will receive a thorough induction to safe working practices.
