How will I be taught?
The tutor will give demonstrations on the sewing machine or by hand sewing the various techniques needed each week. You will be encouraged to make samples of the various techniques alongside a small personal project. The tutor will also give one to one tuition to support you each week with self-assessment against your individualised learning outcomes stated for the course.
What do I need to bring with me?
A basic sewing kit is essential. This should include fine pins, needles, threads, sharp dressmaking scissors, small sharp embroidery scissors, tape measure (preferably retractable DIY type), non-permanent fabric markers and bobbins to fit Bernina sewing machines. A note book and pen will be needed for most sessions. For the first lesson, half a metre of medium weight furnishing fabric (no velvet please). Any other requirements will be dependent upon the student’s choice of projects.
What can I do next?
Further Craft, Textiles or Sewing courses with KAE.
