If your course is held at Ashford Gateway in the evening, please note the following:- The main door to the building closes at 6pm Mon-Wed and 8pm on Thurs. The building can only be accessed via the side door which is situated to the left of the main entrance at the corner of the building. There is an entry system via a buzzer.

How will I be taught?

The tutor will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstration, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques.

Your tutor will give you individual feedback and assess you as you progress through the course.

What do I need to bring with me?

There are only a few sewing machines at the centre to use, so students are advised to bring their own. Students will be taught how to use their machine confidently, and troubleshoot any problems that arise. Don't forget to bring all the accessories, foot controls and leads for the machine, and the instruction manual.

Students will need to bring small sewing equipment, such as sharp scissors, pins, needles, a tape measure, chalk fabric pencil, sewing threads to match fabrics; a tape measure; a folder, paper and pens for notes and hand-outs. A digital camera is also useful to record progress

What can I do next?

Your tutor will be able to advise.

What do I need to join the course

Everyone is welcome to join this course - no experience or knowledge of the subject is needed.
