About this course

This course in Ashford will introduce new users of the iPad® to its many wonderful basic functions.

This course will cover the essential information that you need to know, in order to maximise the use of your iPad®.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

- Navigate your way around the iPad®;
- Personalise your iPad®;
- Use the App Store to download an app;
- Open/close and organise apps;
- Access and use the Internet;
- Check e-mail;
- Find basic trouble-shooting advice;

This course is for iPads® only and not for other types of tablet.

There is no parking on site, but there is a public car park nearby.

How will I be taught?

Your tutor will use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, including one to one guidance and group critiques to support you in achieving your goals. The course will be taught in a relaxed and informal atmosphere, which will try to cater for your individual needs.

Your tutor will provide feedback throughout the session. You will complete an end of course evaluation.

If you have a disability and think it may affect your learning in the classroom, or using any of our other services, please speak to us in confidence as soon as possible. We will discuss options with you and do our best to provide the appropriate support.

What do I need to bring with me?

You will need to bring your fully charged iPad® with you. You will also need access to your Apple® ID and Password and any other accounts and passwords that you might need for your e-mail account etc.

You may wish to bring a notepad and pen.

What do I need to join the course

No prior experience or knowledge of how to use an iPad® is required.

This course is for absolute beginners but some prior knowledge of computing, the internet and e-mail is required.

You will need to bring your library card with you on the day in order to be able to access the WiFi in the Ashford Gateway unless you have previously set-up an Internet connection to your iPad® in the building.
