About this course

Tai Chi (“tie chee”) is a holistic exercise system which combines relaxation and toning movements with internal work to promote health and harmony in mind, body and spirit. Students will follow the slow and deliberate practice of traditional tai chi steps leading to personal development while gaining appreciation of supporting theory, philosophy and applications. Partner work and supporting exercise will add variety and fun to classes.

This taster class provides students with an opportunity to try out Tai Chi before committing to our longer courses.

About the Tutor: Bronwen Elaine Ferry

Bronwen has been practicing Tai Chi since about 1998, initially because she was interested in alternative methods of exercise and the culture and traditions which accompanied Tai Chi. She travelled through Asia, visiting Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia, and some of her exercises and principles are drawn from these experiences. She has had hip and pelvis problems for many years and found that these were considerably reduced as she increased her practice of Tai Chi.
