How will I be taught?
Tutors will use a variety of teaching methods including demonstrations, one to one guidance, group discussions and critiques. You will look at the work of contemporary and historical artists and you will keep a sketchbook/notebook and individual learning plan (ILP) to record goals, ideas, processes and progress. You will undertake critical reflection and evaluation and be motivated to develop creative skills and enhance/develop personal skills.
What do I need to bring with me?
You should bring a sketchbook of at least A4 size, preferably with a hard cover, ring bound and containing good quality cartridge paper and a selection of pencils - B to 4B to the first class. You need to provide your own art materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. The studio is equipped with tools and clay to start any projects on the first lesson. The clay can be bought at the centre and is costed out by weight.
What can I do next?
Further Sculpture or Clay based courses with KAE.
