How will I be taught?
The course will be taught in a relaxed and informal atmosphere with students who attend regularly and complete home study as required. Your tutor will use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles to support you in achieving your goals. Your individual needs will be taken into consideration.
Throughout the course, your tutor will give you verbal and written feedback on your progress towards the requirements of the qualification.
What do I need to bring with me?
Your tutor will advise you at the start of the course.
You will need a calculator (not one built into a mobile phone), a notepad, pen, pencil, eraser, ruler, highlighter and correction fluid or tape. Please also bring an A4 ring binder for notes and handouts.
What can I do next?
This course can enable you to progress onto the 'AAT Access Award in Accounting Software Level 1' course. This course will enable you to apply your double-entry bookkeeping skills to a computerised accounts process on Sage Accounts software.
What do I need to join the course
Students interested in the AAT courses will be required to complete an initial assessment prior to enrolling on the course, to ensure that this is the most suitable course for you. You can contact a local adult education centre and arrange an appointment to complete the literacy and numeracy assessment at the centre.
You will need basic computing skills to attend this course as the final exam is computer-based. You should be able to follow spoken and written instructions, read handouts/activities and take part in group discussions.
This course is aimed at those who are new to the skills and knowledge required of bookkeepers. It is suitable for students studying in preparation for employment in bookkeeping roles and for those who are already employed in bookkeeping and/or data processing roles.
As this is an accredited course, regular attendance, a high level of commitment and approximately 2.5 hours of home study per week are required from you when enrolling on this course.
