Family Learning courses

Our new Family Learning courses are now underway and families across Kent are enjoying the opportunity to share their learning experience in a fun and interactive learning environment. Here are just some of the things which have been happening recently on our Family Learning courses. If you're interested in joining in, find out more here.

Family Sports course - 30th June 2023.

On the 30th June Penny and Andrea, our Family Learning Tutors, delivered our first Family Sports workshop. The event was very well attended by adults and children.

The activities included:

Warm up activities

  • Blindfold navigation
  • Ball skills
  • Bean bag throwing
  • Cross the river
  • Find the sports treasure hunt

The workshop went extremely well and the children and adults really enjoyed the activities. The parents hadn't expected to have to participate quite so much but after some gentle persuasion, they all got involved and their children loved seeing them taking part.

Penny was very quick to identify how to move learning forward, especially with our Autistic son.

Comment from a parent

In August Family Learning supported the Open Faversham event in partnership with Faversham Umbrella Centre. Families took part in workshops making a pirate or fairy boat and balloon modelling, making flowers and dogs. Everyone involved created fantastic pieces of work and were very proud of what they had achieved.
Well done to everyone involved.
