Lipreading courses
Our Lipreading courses are specifically designed for anyone who has acquired a loss of hearing and would like to learn to communicate in general conversation with others. Your course will be taught by an expert tutor who will help you to recognise visible consonant lip shapes, long vowels and double vowels and cope with non-visible sounds. Explore the use of body language, facial expressions, and fingerspelling to assist lipreading throughout the course. Your tutor will also be able to advise about assistive equipment which is available to support you at home and at work, along with agencies which are helpful to people with a hearing loss.
If you would like to attend a language assessment to gauge which course is suitable for you, please contact us here.
