Who can join this course

This course is for students who have attended Arabic beginners classes such as Modular A-B-C or first -Further Steps with us or have studied the language for 60 hours alone or with others and are able to greet, introduce themselves at basic level.
If you are unsure about your level please get in touch with a curriculum leader through onlikae@kent.gov.uk for an assessment.

Is this course for me

This course is delivered online, live via zoom.
You will be in an online classroom with other students and a very supportive and specialised tutor who is able to guide you through the learning of Arabic.
There will be different activities to cover the 4 skills: writing, reading, speaking and listening.

Course aims

By the end of the course you should be able to:

* Express likes and dislikes
* Practise pronunciation and writing
* Learn to buy food , drink and otehr essentails
* Deal with basic given situations: book a hotel, report a problem , make positive or negative statements

You will also be asked to think of Personal Aims to individualise your learning experience, as well as another benefits the course may have.

Additional Information

From 1st August 2024, the Department for Education (DfE) require that learners attending this course must identify their primary purpose for learning. This course is not available for learners whose main aim is to learn a hobby, or for leisure/pleasure.

To get the most out of your course we recommend you attend at least 85% of your sessions. If you do have a pre-arranged commitments booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcome.
