This KAE Studio course is designed for those attending purely for leisure purposes.
It is also aimed at those who have reached their permissible limit on our Tailored Learning progression Creative provision and do not want to move on to the range of Vocational or Accredited courses offered.
Is this course for me
This programme is aimed at candidates who are complete beginners with a keen interest in either completing their own projects or progressing a career within Bricklaying but want to try it out first. Keen DIYers and aspiring property developers this programme is for you.
During this training, you will learn all the basic of Bricklaying with an introduction into tool, equipment and materials used in the Bricklaying industry, brick bonds and block work.
You will be trained to master the basics preparing you to complete your own projects or progress to further advanced study.

• Weather struck pointing.
• Recessed pointing.
• Brick on edge.
• Soldier course.
What will I need for my course
Please bring with you the following for health and safety:
Steel toe cap boots, All Gloves, Masks, Goggles and Ear defenders will be supplied if required. You will be required to bring a change of shoes.
Please bring food and drink with you on the day.
What can I do next
Courses are designed to progress students on to higher levels of the craft, such as level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying, Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying and then progression on to NVQ.
You may also wish to try some related courses such as Plastering, Tiling and Muti trade.
