This KAE Studio course is designed for those attending purely for leisure purposes.

It is also aimed at those who have reached their permissible limit on our Tailored Learning progression Creative provision and do not want to move on to the range of Vocational or Accredited courses offered. All levels are welcome to join this course.

Course aims

* Show how to colour sugarpaste evenly
* Explain how to roll a circle of sugarpaste to cover the chocolate orange
* Describe the technique used to create the beard
* List three Health and Safety points related to modelling

You will also be asked to think of Personal Aims to individualise your learning experience, as well as other benefits the course may have.

What will I need for my course

Please bring along the following items to this course:-

- 1 x Terry’s Chocolate Orange
- 1kg pack White Ready to Roll Fondant Icing (this can be bought from a supermarket)
- A tube of Dr Oetker Liquid Glucose (this can be bought from a supermarket)
- A large gold wrapped coin (approx 9cm) – If supermarkets have them in stock for Christmas this can be used as a base
- A small rolling pin
- A palette knife
- A sharp knife
- A craft knife
- A paintbrush
- A small pot for water or ready made glue
- A box to take item home in

Please bring any cake decorating equipment you may have,

Equipment and ingredients can be bought from specialist cake decorating suppliers, Hobbycraft and all large supermarkets

You can also attend Vocational or Accredited courses in a range of the Creative subjects on offer.

Additional Information

For Health & Safety, please do not wear open toed shoes.

It is important to note that art and craft courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity. Also, please make your tutor aware of any pre-existing health conditions that may impact on your learning.
