Who can join this course

This course is open to everyone, no prior knowledge required other than level 2 or above basic English. It will suit anyone who wishes to enrich their writing to make it more effective, including those engaged in writing for publication.

Is this course for me

Creative writing techniques can be used in a far wider setting than we might expect. Apart from the obvious uses in fiction, drama and poetry, it can also be used to enhance work-based skills and to help develop self- confidence.
On this course in Tunbridge Wells, we will cover a range of techniques for improving techniques and applying creativity. By the end of the course you will:
• have learned some new techniques and refined others
• identified some your strengths and weaknesses
• worked to become a more effective written communicator
• kept a portfolio of work
• shared your work and given and received constructive feedback

There will be a mixture of tutor input, discussion and practical written exercises. Each week some work for home study will be set and discussed the following week.
