Who can join this course

This course is for students who have attend Beginners courses or have a basic knowledge of : greeting, introduction and vocabulary to order and pay for food and drink.

This course is for you if you would like to expand the language at basic level and learn to speak it at a basic level.

In this course you will learn:

· Develop vocabulary on food, drink and shopping for items

· Describe places, people and situations

· Deal with Emergencies

· Practise numbers for time, shopping, etc

Basic grammar will be cover throughout the course. The course book will be discussed at the first session. The progression from this course is another Beginners Plus or a Lower Intermediate. The tutor or the Curriculum Leader will be able to advise.

Is this course for me

This course is delivered online live via zoom.
The setting is like a real classroom and all the resources will be shared with you.
If you like learning within a group and with a very supportive and specialised tutor, this course is for you whether you want to learn for work, travel, pleasure of personal development.
The sessions will be varied and tailored to the needs of the group attending the course.

Course aims

By the end of the course you should be able to:

* Develop vocabulary on food, drink and shopping for items
* Describe places, people and situations
* Practise numbers for time, shopping, etc
* Deal with given situations: complain, car break down, etc

You will also be asked to think of Personal Aims to individualise your learning experience, as well as another benefits the course may have.

Additional Information

From 1st August 2024, the Department for Education (DfE) require that learners attending this course must identify their primary purpose for learning. This course is not available for learners whose main aim is to learn a hobby, or for leisure/pleasure.

To get the most out of your course we recommend you attend at least 85% of your sessions. If you do have a pre-arranged commitments booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcome.
