Who can join this course
For anybody who is looking to improve the practical speaking and listening skills needed to cope with a range of real life situations in the workplace, more complex than those at Beginners Plus level. This course follows on from our Beginners Plus. Students need to either have completed one of our Beginners Plus courses or have studied GCSE (D/E grades) or have studied the language for approximately 100 hours and who can express themselves and understand simple information relating to personal, work or social matters. If you are unsure carry out our self-assessment test available on www.kentadulteducation.co.uk. The assessment provides a score to help you chose the best course for you. If still unsure, speak to us or to a Curriculum Leader
In this courses you will :
• Describe (people, places, situations, events etc) and make comparisons
• Make simple arrangements
• Express an opinion
• Deal with emergencies, problems and complaints
• Listen and respond to information from a range of sources (telephone messages, news headlines/public announcements, instructions, conversations)
• Grasp general meaning of written material (e-mails, mobile text messages, letters, notices, leaflets etc)
• Exchange/extract key information on a variety of topics/situations
Grammar will be expanded throughout the course. The course book will be discussed during the first lesson if appropriate
Is this course for me
This sessions in this course will be varied and have different topics and activities to enhance: speaking, reading, listening and writing skills. Grammar topics will be selected after the initial assessments and to conmplement and support the topics of the sessions.
The tutor will support you throughout your learning.
