You must meet the entry requirements for the course
- You must be a UK national, or an Irish national, or an EEA national with pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement scheme
- You must have been resident in the UK or an EEA country continuously for the 3 years preceding the start date of your course. For learners living in the Greater London Authority area only you must have valid permission to live in the UK for at least 12 months in duration from the start date of your course.
- You must be aged 19 or over as at the 31st August 2024 for courses in the 2024/25 academic year
- You must agree to commit to and complete an Individual Learning Plan in agreement with your course tutor
Who can join this course
For anybody who is looking to improve the practical speaking, reading and listening skills needed to cope with a range of real life situations more complex than those at Beginners Plus level. This course follows on from our French Beginners Plus.
Is this course for me
Do you want to be able to use your French in a range of real life situations? This is the aim of our French Lower Intermediate course. You will benefit from being in a classroom exchanging face to face with a supportive tutor and others as you practise speaking and enjoy learning the language.
Exchange/extract key information on a variety of topics/situations.
Express an opinion.
Grasp general meaning of written material.
Listen and respond to information from a range of sources (news headlines/public announcements, instructions, conversations).
Grammar will be expanded. You will learn to use expressions and forms appropriate to the language using present, future and some past tenses.
