Who can join this course
This KAE Studio course is designed for those attending purely for leisure purposes.
It is also aimed at those who have reached their permissible limit on our Tailored Learning progression Creative provision and do not want to move on to the range of Vocational or Accredited courses offered. By the end of this course you should be able to:
Make expressive drawings from the human figure
Use a variety of approaches, materials and techniques to develop a more personal response in your work
Use colour and mark making to create energy and drama on the page
Respond creatively to the presence of a life model, and understand why that’s an interesting thing for an artist to do
Take inspiration from artists who look differently at what it means to make pictures of humans.?
You don’t need any previous drawing experience to come along to this class. It’s a great, safe place to try drawing and painting the figure in a supportive and non-judgemental atmosphere. It’s based on the belief that drawing is a process, that everyone can draw, and there’s no such thing as a bad drawing.
There is no qualification for this course (but if you ask nicely, your tutor might make you a certificate, because an artist did that for her once, and it gave her hope).?

Creative courses aim to build confidence through learning, allowing students to express themselves, think critically, and collaborate with their peers.
