Who can join this course

This course is designed for individuals who have completed a beginners' Portuguese course or possess a basic level of command of the language. It is ideal for employees, business owners, and professionals who interact with Portuguese-speaking clients, colleagues, or partners. Participants should be familiar with basic Portuguese vocabulary and grammar to fully benefit from this course.

Course aims

By the end of the course you should be able to:

* Enhance your Portuguese vocabulary with a focus on workplace terminology and common phrases used in professional settings
* Develop the ability to engage in basic conversations in Portuguese, including greetings, introductions, and small talk relevant to the workplace
* Improve your ability to understand spoken Portuguese through listening exercises and practice with native speakers
* Learn to write simple emails, reports, and other professional documents in Portuguese
* Build confidence in speaking Portuguese through role-playing scenarios and interactive activities focused on workplace situations

You will also be asked to think of Personal Aims to individualise your learning experience, as well as another benefits the course may have.

Additional Information

From 1st August 2024, the Department for Education (DfE) require that learners attending this course must identify their primary purpose for learning. This course is not available for learners whose main aim is to learn a hobby, or for leisure/pleasure.

If you do have a pre-arranged commitments booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcome.
