Who can join this course

This is one of our Tailored learning Entry level (Beginners) First Steps courses. This course is for learners who have not studied with us previously in Languages at Level 1 or above.
Eligible learners may enrol onto entry level courses in Languages up to a maximum of 120 guided learning hours in total.
Please refer to our Course details for the guided learning hours assigned to this course.
If you have already reached the maximum guided learning hours in Languages at entry level, you should look to progress to Language courses at Level 1 (Beginners Plus).

This course is for students with no previous knowledge of the language. This is the third course of our Spanish Beginners - Steps. This third module is open to students who have attended a previous module or have been studied alone and would like to consolidate their learning withing a group with a supportive tutor that will help to progress further.

Is this course for me

This course is for you if you would like to continue studying the language at a basic level. Basic grammar will be covered throughout the course. This is module 3 therefore this course is not suggested for complete beginners.

Course aims

By the end of the course you should be able to:

* Practise introductions and greetings in different contexts
* Make a booking for different situations
* Grasp basic information from different media
* Structure sentences for every day needs
* Make a change according to your needs or the ones who are with you

You will also be asked to think of Personal Aims to individualise your learning experience, as well as another benefits the course may have.

The progression from this course is Further Steps. This is the consolidation module of the Beginners Steps. The course to enrol next would be a Spanish Beginners Plus

Additional Information

From 1st August 2024, the Department for Education (DfE) require that learners attending this course must identify their primary purpose for learning. This course is not available for learners whose main aim is to learn a hobby, or for leisure/pleasure.

To get the most out of your course we recommend you attend at least 85% of your sessions. If you do have a pre-arranged commitments booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcome.
