Who can join this course

Students need to have attended an Upper Intermediate course, or have studied the language for approximately 300 hours, or completed GCSE (A/C grades) or O level. You should be able to speak confidently in predictable everyday situations.

If you are unsure of your level, please carry out our self-assessment test available on www.kentadulteducation.co.uk. The assessment provides a score to help you choose the best course for you. If you are still unsure, speak to a member of staff in a centre or to a Curriculum Leader.

Is this course for me

This course follows on from our Upper Intermediate course and is for anyone who has the knowledge of the tenses and basic structure of the language and needs fluency and conversation practice.
Grammar gaps will be covered as needed. You will be given small amounts of homework (1 hour suggested) each week to reinforce classroom learning. Do you want to speak Spanish more fluently and build on your conversational skills as well as be able to gain a deeper cultural understanding? This is the aim of this Spanish Intermediate Plus course. You will benefit from being in a classroom, exchanging face to face with your supportive tutor and other students as you practise speaking in Spanish and enjoying learning the language.
By the end of the course successful students should be able to:
- - Communicate on a wider range of topics and be able to extract details accurately from various sources
- Obtain information from complex texts and deal with topics of a familiar/unfamiliar nature
- Make hypotheses using the conditional
- Start to express attitudes and emotions using the subjunctive
- Start to use colloquial expressions and appropriate style of language in conversations
