Who can join this course

For anyone who is looking to improve the practical speaking and listening skills needed to cope with a range of real life situations in the workplace, more complex than those at Beginners Plus level. This course follows on from our French Beginners Plus. Students need to either have completed one of our Beginners Plus courses or have studied GCSE (D/E grades) or have studied the language for approximately 100 hours and who can express themselves and understand simple information relating to personal, work or social matters. If you are unsure carry out our self-assessment test available on www.kentadulteducation.co.uk. The assessment provides a score to help you chose the best course for you. If still unsure, speak to us or to a Curriculum Leader.

Is this course for me

Do you want to be able to use your Spanish in a range of work related situations? This is the aim of our Spanish Lower Intermediate course. You will benefit from exchanging face to face with a supportive tutor and others as you practise speaking and enjoy learning the language.

Course aims

By the end of the course you should be able to:

* Exchange/extract key information on a variety of topics/situations
* Deal with emergencies, problems and complaints
* Listen and respond to information from a range of sources (telephone messages, news headlines/public announcements, instructions, conversations)
* Grasp general meaning of written material (e-mails, mobile text messages, letters, notices, leaflets etc)

You will also be asked to think of Personal Aims to individualise your learning experience, as well as another benefits the course may have.

Additional Information

From 1st August 2024, the Department for Education (DfE) require that learners attending this course must identify their primary purpose for learning. This course is not available for learners whose main aim is to learn a hobby, or for leisure/pleasure.

To get the most out of your course we recommend you attend at least 85% of your sessions. If you do have a pre-arranged commitments booked during term time, please let the tutor know in advance so that we can help you catch up on missed sessions and ensure that you still achieve the course outcome.
