Is this course for me

In this exciting new course you will learn how to create children’s cakes by cutting and shaping, covering in various mediums. Acquire skills in colouring buttercream and fondant, techniques to create texture and how to make decorations by hand and with the use of moulds and cutters adding details with paint effects and highlights using metallic dusts. Finishing off by creating lettering for that special occasion.

You will be required to bake cakes and cupcakes throughout this course.

Our Creative Intent
Creativity is an essential aspect of human expression and plays a crucial role in fostering well-being and a sense of purpose.
The ambition of the Kent Adult Education Creative curriculum is to engage the community through an energetic and diverse programme offer planned to meet the varied needs and interests of Kent’s communities, thereby ensuring high quality learning is delivered across the county in dedicated adult education centres, online and in neighbourhood settings.
Creative courses aim to build confidence through learning, allowing students to express themselves, think critically, and collaborate with their peers. By empowering our students to become confident, imaginative, and adaptable learners, we aim to develop students' curiosity, resilience, and adaptability, preparing them for future challenges, opportunities, and personal development.

Work Skills/Vocational courses are designed as an introduction into the professional practice needed to progress in a Creative discipline. They are the perfect vocational course for anyone looking to take the first steps in starting a career or progressing onto further work skills or accredited courses. The focus of this course is to work on foundational skills and hone these to a high enough standard to potentially work in this field in the future.
